Last week saw a hive of activity enter Hull and the surrounding area as it played host to Humber Business Week, an event that draws in people and local businesses from all around to provide talks, seminars and lectures.
Agenda were in on the action; not only did we support and partake in a great event hosted by the Humber Business Resilience Forum – Protecting Your Digital Footprint – but we had members of staff all over the local area taking part in their own training and attending events to learn more about a chosen field.
Norman Mortell, our Managing Director attended multiple events throughout the week, including the Bondholders Business Breakfast and the Institute of Directors Lunch where he met one of his boyhood heroes, Midge Ure! (Norman recently became a committee member of the IoD which you can read about here) Norman was also one of the Key speakers at the Humber Business Resilience Forum event, and helped educate people on how to protect their online reputation. The events that Norman attended all had an excellent turn out with over 400 people attending the Bondholders opening!
Head of Marketing, Anna Smith visited the Costello Stadium in Hull for the 1st day of the Chamber Expo. Chamber Expo is organised by the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce and is a large part of the Humber Business Week. This provided great opportunities for networking and discussions with potential clients and partnership organisations. Excellent to see the wide variety of clients exhibiting and supporting the event which is now in its 13th year.
Emily and Karla, from the Marketing Team, attended two events in Grimsby to learn more about using Social Media and Google Analytics to grow in business. The two seminars took place over the full day and were incredibly engaging and insightful when it came to how we could progress as a business and where we could look for further training. The speakers were approachable and both offered the chance to speak with them after the event if the attendees had any deeper questions.
Chris Withers, Head of IT and Compliance, and Carl Butler, our Director of Screening, attended The Business Day 2017 in Bridlington on the last day of Biz Week. A plethora of events happened on this day - including some very entertaining Crazy Grannies – and the whole event was hosted by BBC’s Pointless star, Alexander Armstrong. Speakers included some great names, such as Baroness Karren Brady, John Simpson and Tommy Coyle among others.
A full run down of events can be seen via our Twitter feed as we live tweeted during this day.
