We are proud to announce that following a full day audit by two ISOQAR auditors on the 8th of January 2013, Agenda successfully achieved the requirements of the ISO14001: 2004 Environmental Management Standard.
Agenda is committed to being environmentally friendly and in recent years has introduced numerous initiatives including more recycling, paperless systems, the purchase of more environmentally friendly products and company cars. Added to that, initiatives such as electronic time-sheets, the replacement of light fittings with more environmentally friendly ones and the setting of specific targets to reduce waste and energy consumption, helped us begin the process of meeting the ISO14001 requirements. The objectives of the audit were to confirm that the management system conforms with the requirements of the ISO14001 audit standard and also any statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements that are applicable; to confirm that the organisation has effectively implemented the planned management system and to confirm that the management system is meeting its specified objectives.
The auditors specifically mentioned that "The organisation's management team, and in particular the management representative, have clearly defined roles and responsibilities in relation to the systems for environment (EMS manual procedure EMS 3 version 1.0 dated 2012)." and with regards to environmental training, competency and awareness that "All records were available, up to date and in line with duties performed."
Judith (Agenda's Environmental Management Representative) who led the audit alongside Katrina (Agenda's Internal Auditor) said "It was real team effort., We couldn't have done it without management commitment and the enthusiasm of the staff, in particular Chris, Katie, Mat and Susie, who all contributed and developed systems and processes to meet the needs of the standard in preparation for the audit."
Norman Mortell (Director of Operations) said, "We have always cared about the environment and we also recognise that there are real business benefits to be had by making more efficient use of resources and so going for ISO14001 was a natural progression. We are very proud of the project team who led us to certification in what must be a record breaking four month period! ISO14001 now sits proudly alongside our ISO9001 (Quality Management), ISO27001 (Information Security), Investors in People (Staff Development) and Secured by Design (Physical Security) accreditations."
