Changes to the way Disclosure Scotland is processing checks

The Professional Background Screening Association (PBSA), is working alongside Disclosure Scotland to help provide clear and effective communication about changes to the way Disclosure Scotland will be processing check in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Temporary changes have been put in place to the way all application are being processed to prioritise those critical in the fight against COVID-19. Disclosure Scotland has asked that employers and stakeholders only submit those applications that they deem an application for a priority role.

The Scottish Government have issued the following list of sectors deemed to be critical at this time:

  • Healthcare,
  • Pharmaceutical,
  • Childcare,
  • Social work,
  • Social care,
  • Prisons and justice.

Alongside this list, for the time being, Disclosure Scotland has suspended all fees for applications critical in fighting COVID-19, this will be reviewed after an initial 6 week period.

Agenda’s Director of Screening, Carl Butler, is Chair of the PBSA and stated:

I’m proud of the work we have been doing to influence change at Disclosure Scotland, to support the rapid onboarding of key workers in the UK.”
